For quite some time now I have had an interest in meditation. I have long thought that it would be useful to practice meditation in my life. I have tried many different approaches to try to accomplish this... I have read books on the subject, purchased meditation CDs and MP3s, and have tried to do several different approaches like Natural Stress Relief and most recently Zen meditation.
For as many things as I have tried I have not been able to find the ONE that will work for me. While I have enjoyed all of them, none of them have truly become part of my daily routine.
About a year ago, I attended a talk on Transcendental Meditation and I was intrigued by what I heard but quite honestly I was disappointed by the cost and some of the negative reviews I have read about TM.
It was not until last week that (after a year and a half or more of waiting) we became patients of Dr. Owen, an integrative functional physician here in Atlanta. I told her during our meeting that Dr. Delcher had suggested that I incorporate meditation into my life and how I thought that having 2 20 minute sessions twice daily would be very difficult for me. She told me that she too thought it would be valuable. She happened to have a "discount" voucher and so I decided that it was time to jump on it and see if it would be any different from the many other types of meditation I have tried.
I contacted the teacher in Atlanta, Mark Cohen, and I am waiting for the next class I can attend to take it (most likely in February some time).
